Affected dentin is not contaminated with bacteria and even though it is a softer tissue than healthy dentin, it should not be removed whereas infected dentin should be removed before restoring the cavity.
The action of the product occurs through the red acid dye S52 present in its formulation and the place colored in red indicates demineralized and infected dentin.
EVICARIE clinically clearly differentiates the infected dentin layer, which must be removed, not pigmenting the other layers or the normal dentin.
